Weekly Blog (February 19 - 25)
This week's latest news headlines saw a crazy collection of events take place including a devastating hate crime took place in Kansas and the Rugby Six Nations competition kicked on.
An Indian National was killed and two others were injured at a bar in Olathe Kansas after a possible hate crime took place in the bar just prior to the devastating attack. Witnesses claimed that the murderer had been harassing the two Indian men about their national origin and the legitimacy of their immigration status.
The man who was killed, Srinivas Kuchibhotla, worked for Garmin with his colleague, , and they had gone to the bar after work to have a drink together.
An absolute tragedy as yet another shooting took place in this country and innocent people were murdered. This anti-global view has only been reinforced by the words of the President of the United States. These are the kinds of crimes that are example of how Trump's speech and opinions expressed on Twitter have caused even more bigotry, racism, intolerance and ignorance to be spread throughout the United States.
In more positive news, one of International Rugby's biggest tournaments, The Six Nations, carried on as England beat Italy in a crazy game at Twickenham Stadium in London. The Red and Whites had previously beaten France and Wales by narrow scorelines and remained unbeaten after their 36-15 over the Italians. The Six Nations will continue to take place until March 18th as England will play their final game against Ireland and will look to retain their title as they are the holders of the Six Nations.
